ROOM FOR YOUR CREATIVITY
The Sundial Theatre, based in Cirencester College, regularly runs sold-out gigs for high-profile tribute acts and impersonators, dance showcases with large performing arts academies, presentations of dramatic work by external and internal theatre companies, popular magic acts by rising stars and touring comedy events by popular household names such as Tom Allen and Rich Hall. We are also fully equipped to host conferencing events and staff training seminars, as well as social occasions like wedding receptions, parties and reunions. Backstage, all our bookings have full access to both our large ‘black box’ space which is frequently used as a storage space or dressing room, as well as a dedicated dressing room with full toilet facilities.
Our Spotlight bar also doubles as an event space which is available for smaller groups to book, as we can provide a full PA, some lighting and a technician for these events (included within the space hire fee).
SUPPORTING YOUR EVENT
Our Lead Technician will always be present for your event to coordinate the get-in, get out, provide support for the act and ensure venue rules/health and safety protocols are followed. Professional lighting and sound equipment are readily available and can be organised prior to the event with the Theatre Manager and Lead Technician. These services are included within the space hire fee. Please read our theatre rules below for more information on these procedures.
Our main auditorium is a versatile space with a large, proscenium style end-on stage, a large floor space which can be converted into either a dance floor, a seated area with table and chairs for up to 150 people, or a traditional theatre space for up to 202 people in our motorised rake, and can seat up to 262 people with extended, folding seating. Please read through our Tech spec below for more information on our main auditorium and stage space; It details the main equipment which is permanently in use within our space, as well as provides further detail on the stage layout.
At some points during the year, certain pieces of individual equipment can be made available for external hire. SPACE HIRE FEE
A typical charge is inclusive of professional technician time for the duration of the performance plus up to 8 hours for prep work, get-in and get-out time for your event. If more time or more technicians are required, this can be arranged.
The Sundial will arrange the selling of the tickets for the event, provide snacks, drink and front of house staffing inclusive of your charge. Profits from our bar are kept by the theatre.
